Private Coaching with Jason Lange
One-on-one depth work for men who want more than strategy sessions and accountability check-ins. Private coaching integrates embodiment, shadow work, Enneagram awareness, and relational skill to address the patterns that run your life from underground.

This Isn’t Life Coaching
This isn't just life coaching. Nor is it just isn't strategy sessions with accountability check-ins and goal tracking. There are a thousand coaches who do that, and some of them do it well.
This is depth work. One-on-one. Tailored to you. Working with the specific patterns that keep you stuck, in your body, not just your head.
Private coaching works at the intersection of embodiment, shadow integration, Enneagram awareness, and relational skill. It addresses the patterns running your life from underground: the way you shut down in conflict, the way you perform instead of connect, the way you know exactly what you should do and still can't do it.
I've been doing men's work for over 20 years. I've sat in hundreds of men's groups, facilitated countless coaching sessions, and done my own relentless inner work. I teach from lived experience, not theory. What I ask you to do, I've done myself. What I guide you through, I've been through myself.
The information-transformation gap doesn't close through just learning more information. It closes through embodied practice with someone who can see what you can't.
Who Private Coaching Is For
This work is for men who want more depth, more specificity, or more privacy than a group container provides.
You've done some personal development work and hit a wall. Maybe therapy, books, workshops. You understand your patterns intellectually, and they still run your behavior. You need someone who works at the nervous system level, not just the cognitive level.
A relationship ending or beginning. A career shift. Becoming a father. Midlife reckoning. These transitions crack open material that's been underground for decades. Having a coach who understands the body and the shadow makes the difference between white-knuckling through and actually growing through.
The nice guy pattern. Anger you can't access or can't control. Emotional shutdown. Chronic achieving without fulfillment. The Enneagram reveals your specific version of these patterns, and coaching gives you the container to work them with precision.
Many men in Pillars of Presence or Heart of Shadow supplement with private coaching. The group provides the mirror and the accountability. Private coaching provides the scalpel.
You're a leader, entrepreneur, or high-performer who needs confidential support. Some things need a private container. Period. The work is the same. The stakes in your public life make the privacy essential.
What a Session Looks Like
Sessions are 60 minutes, held over video or in person. Every session includes some combination of these elements.
What's happening in your body right now? Where's the tension, the numbness, the charge? We start here because the body holds what the mind has filed away. If I ask what you're feeling and you answer with a thought, I'll redirect you to the body.
We work with the specific situations showing up in your life. Not abstract patterns. The actual moment with your partner last Tuesday. The meeting where you shut down. I help you track the pattern in your body and build the capacity to respond differently.
When suppressed material surfaces, we work with it directly. Anger, grief, shame, tenderness, desire. The goal isn't catharsis. It's integration: building a conscious relationship with the parts of yourself you've been running from so they stop running you.
Breathwork, somatic tracking, nervous system regulation, relational experiments. I give you practices calibrated to your patterns. The session is the concentrated work. The practice between sessions is where it gets wired in.
I'll hold you to what you say you're going to do. Not punitively. Clearly. When someone is going to look you in the eye and ask if you followed through, it moves differently through your system than a promise you made to yourself.
What Makes This Different
Most coaches work cognitively. Goals, limiting beliefs, action plans. That has its place. But if the pattern lives in your nervous system, no amount of goal setting will touch it. I work somatically. We track sensation. We breathe. We feel. The body is the instrument.
I'm a recovering nice guy. I've sat in men's groups for over 20 years. I've been terrified to show the creative work I cared about most. I don't coach from a script. I coach from scar tissue. You can feel the difference between a man who has read about pain and a man who has metabolized it.
As a Stages International Certified Debriefer, I use the Enneagram not as a personality label but as a precision map of your defensive architecture. Your type tells me where your shadow lives, how your survival strategy operates, and where the growth edge is sharpest.
The practices I assign are specific to your patterns and your life. They're not generic homework. They're calibrated interventions that build the capacity you need to do the thing you haven't been able to do.

What Clients Say
Real words from men who have done this work with Jason.
Working with Jason has been phenomenal. I came to him for help working through some shadows, so that I don't bring old toxic patterns with me into my new relationship. Within six months we worked on various inner-child wounds, cultivated my capacity for groundedness alongside playfulness with my partner, as well as working through jealousy and communication blocks. The shifts have been utterly profound. I am at a place in my relationship which I never thought possible. Not only that, with the tools and insights I gain with Jason, I have trust in myself that I can sustain and grow this container.
I went into it knowing I tended to avoid conflict and it was hurting my relationships. I hoped doing this work with Jason and Luke would help. What I experienced was beyond my expectations. I was able to fully feel emotions I'd been holding for decades. My partner commented I seemed more grounded, better able to stay engaged when she was emotional, and a more present father. I also connected with a tribe of men that offers a level of support I was previously missing.
I've been in a transition period where I was stressed out about my career, and to add to the chaos, I recently got out of an engagement to someone I thought I wanted to marry. With lots of soul searching, I stumbled upon Jason's workshop and it was the right experience I needed to let go of the grief and stress I was holding in my mind and body.
Through Jason's method, I uncovered an unconscious belief about myself that never surfaced in talk therapy or other workshops. Jason then helped me process this emotion and reconnect with myself.
I was skeptical of men's work because I had seen ridiculous videos from the '80s of men running around half naked in the woods trying to be all spiritual. Jason's approach is very practical and deals with the challenges we have in the real world. Like the barriers that kept me from having male friends. That prevented me from being my full self in relationship to my wife and son. That made men appear so competitive and antagonistic in my encounters at work. Jason's approach to men's work opened me up to feelings I had been burying for a long time and helped me clear up the fog of confusion I was operating in.

Common Questions About Private Coaching
How much does private coaching cost?
Coaching is an investment that varies based on the structure we design together. Some men work in focused 3-month containers. Others maintain ongoing sessions over a longer period. We'll discuss pricing during the exploratory session based on what makes sense for your situation and goals.
How often do we meet?
Most men start with biweekly sessions and adjust from there. Some men in intensive transitions prefer weekly. Others in maintenance mode shift to monthly. There's no one-size-fits-all frequency. Sessions are typically 60 minutes, held over video or in person if you're local to Colorado.
Can I do private coaching alongside a group program?
Yes. Many men combine private coaching with Pillars of Presence, Heart of Shadow, or the Men's Group Experience. The group provides the communal container, the mirrors, and the peer accountability. Private coaching provides the individualized depth work. They accelerate each other.
Is this the same as therapy?
No. Coaching and therapy serve different functions. Therapy tends to focus on diagnosis, treatment, and symptom reduction. Coaching works with men who are functional but stuck, targeting the specific patterns, relational habits, and embodiment gaps that keep them from showing up fully. Many men do both simultaneously. If clinical issues arise, I'll refer you to an appropriate professional.
What results can I expect?
Results depend on what you bring and how willing you are to do the work between sessions. Common shifts men report: greater body awareness, reduced reactivity, improved capacity to stay present during conflict, deeper intimacy in relationships, clearer sense of what they want, and the ability to set boundaries without guilt. These build over weeks and months as the nervous system rewires through consistent practice.
What if I've never done any personal development work?
Not a problem! You don't need a prerequisite. Some men come having done years of therapy and group work. Others come having never talked about their inner life with another man. Both are starting from wherever they are. If I think a group program would serve you better as a starting point, I'll tell you that directly.
How do I get started?
Book an exploratory session using the link here. It's a free conversation where we discuss where you are, what you're looking for, and whether private coaching is the right fit. No pressure. If it's not the right match, I'll point you toward whatever I think will actually help.
You Already Know What the Next Step Is
You've been thinking about this for a while. The fact that you're still reading says something your body already knows. Trust it.
I work with a small number of private coaching clients at a time. When my roster is full, I maintain a waitlist.
